I don't know which Gastrodon is better - the right one with its inquisitive expression or the left one which I imagine going "OH HELLO!" And Wimpod just can't catch a break, can he? Beautiful environment as well - an all-around terrific piece.

And what a first post it is! You've struck the perfect balance between an anatomically correct cheetah and the anthropomorphism in the facial expression. The lighting only makes it cooler. Great work!

Thank you so much! ❤️

Visually this comic is incredibly eye-catching, which more than makes up for the fact that it's only setting up a larger narrative story-wise. The sharp, angular lines, the vibrant colors, the rebellious vibe of the characters - it's all pretty much perfect. There's so much confidence behind every stroke, it's clear this style suits you well and you feel comfortable with it. Great job and good luck in the contest!

Thanks for the comments man!!! I'm glad you enjoyed it, and best of luck to you as well!! ☺️

A short but very effective horror story. I feel like the art starts off pretty good and then just keeps getting better and better with every page - this might be because you were getting used to drawing the characters as the story went on. The final few pages, particularly the zombie scenes, look amazing. And I like the ending - grim but poignant. Very good job, and good luck in the contest!

Artist-Lost responds:

thank you! I really noticed a change in my hand skills working on this, I started late so I ended up having to do a page or two every day to meet the deadline. By the end I feel like the strokes got looser and more expressive.

Joining in on the praise, I think your art style is incredibly cute. The kobold designs are adorable in their simplicity, but you are able to convey a wide range of attitudes and emotions through them. Otay is a very relatable protagonist you want to root for. Story wise, the comic and your description definitely make me want to learn more. There's always a risk involved when you use a long story as the basis for a short comic, and you clearly had to stuff a fair bit of exposition to make it work, but personally I didn't mind it. Overall, great work, and good luck in the contest!

It's always a treat when a new jouste piece pops up in my feed. I live for your descriptions. Pure gold, as usual.

Absolutely stunning, no other words come to mind. It took a lot of time, but you should be incredibly proud of this piece.

That really is way too cute. Swampert is giving such golden retriever energy that I can almost forget what a pain in the ass he is in Pokémon Go. Great work!

DanShimmershell responds:

Thank you! One of my favorite things to draw is pokemon... and robots.

The creature design is fantastic, and the way you brought it to life is just as impressive. I really like the tail actually, it's very crocodilian in appearance and you can never have too many crocs. Great work!

That... was certainly NOT where I expected this comic would go! The ending feels a bit abrupt, shocking even, but that's unavoidable when you have to condense a much bigger plot into 16 pages. I will say that it's definitely interesting and makes me want to read more. Your uncomplicated art style works with this story, and I enjoyed the characters - I thought they were pretty well set up even in the small space they were given, Mackenzie in particular. Good work and good luck in the contest!

Hello!
I love nature, science, Pokémon, gay stuff (both SFW and NSFW) and making comics - not necessarily in that order. My NG journey is about sharing all kinds of works and accepting that they're all equally valid ways of expressing myself through art.
